Dubai—Canada’s Nexen is still in talks withYemen over extending its Masila productionsharing contract, which accounts for most ofits production in the troubled Arab state. The company said it is urgently seeking afive-year extension of the agreement, whichexpires at the end of December. “We continueto work on an extension with [the] governmentof Yemen. Talks occurred as recently as lastweek,” Pierre Alvarez, Nexen’s vice-presidentof corporate relations, said July 31 in anemail response to a request for comment.
