OMV to ditch much of downstream assets

Istanbul-Austria's OMV plans to slash its refining and marketing business over the next 10 years to around a quarter of its asset base from more than 50% now to focus more on upstream projects, CEO Gerhard Roiss said September 21. Presenting the company's new mediumand long-term strategy to reporters and analysts in Istanbul, Roiss said upstream would represent more than 50% of OMV's business by 2021 compared with 35% at present.
