Vietnam dumps import tax on gasoline, gasoil

Singapore-Vietnam's Ministry of Finance January 14 abolished import taxes on gasoline and diesel, and cut tariffs on other oil products to 2%, in an effort to ease losses incurred by oil importers as domestic prices remain unchanged despite a jump in international oil prices. The ministry has also hiked the amount importers can draw from the Oil Stabilization Fund to subsidize diesel sales.
