China eyes shale for 8%-12% of gas output by 2020

Hong Kong-China has set a goal of building 15 billion to 30 billion cubic meters of annual shale gas production capacity by 2020 as the country studies and formulates policies to encourage development of the non-conventional energy source as a response to domestic natural gas shortages, the Ministry of Land and Resources said.
