BHP Billiton pumps first oil from Pyrenees project

Melbourne, Australia-BHP Billiton has started oil production at the $1.7 billion Pyrenees oil and gas project in the Exmouth Basin offshore Western Australia, the Anglo-Australian resources giant said March 1.The company did not give the start-up rate but the project has a capacity to produce 96,000 b/d of crude and 60,000 Mcf/day of gas from seven production wells on the Crosby, Ravensworth and Stickle fields.
