CNPC uses stored gas to meet rising demand

Sydney-State-owned China National Petrole- um Corporation has used natural gas from its stockpiles to meet rising winter demand, com- pany sources told the official China Daily newspaper November 17. China's largest oil and gas producer took 5.7 million cubic meters of gas from its Dagang storage facility in Tianjin November 15, and a further 8 million cu m November 16, because of extra demand for heating in Beijing and Tianjin, in northern China, CNPC said.
