PTT to take Map Ta Phut case to government

Singapore-Thailand's PTT has decided to seek government help after the Central Administrative Court rejected its appeal seeking to overturn the suspension of some of the state-owned oil and gas company's projects in the Map Ta Phut industrial precinct. PTT had sought a go-ahead from the court for nine of its 18 projects currently facing a ban on environmental grounds, an official with the state-run energy company said January 27. Included in the nine was the company's sixth gas separation plant, the operation of which is key to meeting Thailand's growing LPG demand; and a small distribution pipeline to supply gas to industries and power plants.
