Quebec’s Utica shale development set back

Vancouver-Talisman Energy and Questerre Energy have checked progress towards government hopes of self-sufficiency in natural gas for the next century in the Canadian province of Quebec by shelving plans to complete two test wells in the Utica shale. The two Calgary-based companies, which are leading the push to commercialize shale gas in the St. Lawrence Lowlands, said October 15 they have pushed back their schedule for an uncertain period.
