Sinopec to raise Qingdao refinery capacity by 10%

Singapore-China’s state-owned Sinopec will lift the capacity of its refinery in Qingdao, eastern Shandong province, by 10% to 11 million mt/year (220,000 b/d) by July 2011, a company source said September 7. “We will increase our capacity through upgrading our current 10 million mt/year CDU in June 2011,” said the source. “The whole refinery will be idled for 45 days in June and July for the upgrade.”
