Shell and Delek asked to hearing on Montreal refinery

New York-Members of Canada’s Parliament have asked Shell Canada and Delek US to attend a July 20 hearing to detail efforts by Shell to sell its 130,000 b/d Montreal East refinery amid rising political heat to keep the refinery open. Shell plans to turn the refinery complex into a terminal. In late June, the company said it had officially ended talks with potential buyers after the last one withdrew. Delek US, a subsidiary of Israeli-owned Delek Oil, is believed to have been that company.
