Jakarta-Indonesia's state-owned gas transmission and distribution company Perusahaan Gas Negara posted a 145% year-on-year rise in net profit to Rupiah 4.4 trillion ($463 million) for the first nine months of 2009, due to the completion of a gas pipeline project, a senior company official said October 26. The improved result for the period followed a 37% year-on-year rise in gas distribution volume to 776,000 Mcf/d, said PLN President Director Hendi P. Santoso.
