Iraq to award EPC for Nassiriya after bid round

Chicago-Iraq's oil ministry will award a contract for the development of the Nassiriya oil field in southern Iraq after the first bid round awards for six other oil fields and two gas fields, oil ministry spokesman Asim Jihad said June 28. The development of the Nassiriya oil field, which holds 4.4 billion barrels of crude reserves, was being negotiated with three oil companies outside of the bidding round. The ministry had invited Italy's Eni, Spain's Rep-sol and Nippon Oil of Japan to negotiate an Engineering, Procurement and Construction contract for the further development of the field.
