Oil demand weak despite China 'uptick': Aramco

New York-An "uptick" in demand from China has not made up for the millions of barrels of oil lost as a result of the global economic crisis, Saudi Aramco CEO Khalid Al-Falih said in an interview aired September 28 on US television. Al-Falih, speaking to a reporter from television's Nightly Business Report, said that global oil demand "continues to be very sluggish in the West, the US, North America and Europe. We see an uptick in China, but not significant enough to offset the demand loss that we saw with the economic and financial crisis of the last year or so."
