China's Sinopec closes Addax Petroleum acquisition

Hong Kong-China's Sinopec said August 18 it had completed the acquisition of Geneva-based oil and gas exploration and production company Addax Petroleum, marking the largest overseas takeover ever by a Chinese company. The closing of the deal comes after Sinopec "met all the requirements set out in the acquisition agreement," the Chinese state oil company said in a statement.
