UK reveals North Sea taxation incentives

London—The UK government announced March 12 a series of fiscal reforms aimed at encouraging further upstream investment in the UK North Sea. The reforms include changes to the treatment of Corporation Tax losses created by decommissioning, extension of 100% capital allowances to long-life assets and mid-life decommissioning, and reforms to the petroleum revenue tax.
