Success in Gulf helps Hess book big reserve gain for 2006

New York—US major Hess said January 31 it proved up well over twice as much new oil and gas as it produced last year, at an average cost of 12.55/barrel of oil equivalent. It added 301 million boe against production of 131 million boe, raising proved reserves almost 13% to 1.24 billion boe at year-end.
