Singapore-Malaysian state-owned oil and gas company Petronas has posted a 20.6% rise in its net profits for the first half of the fiscal year ending March 2007 to MR27.27 billion (7.5 billion), the company said November 23. Revenues rose 10% to MR88.85 billion. Revenue from the company's oil business, comprising sales of petroleum products and crude oil trading, rose 11.2% year on year to MR35.9 billion in the six months ended September 30, and accounted for 40.4% of the group's total revenue, Petronas said. Revenue from the exploration and production business rose 9.6% to MR21.29 billion and accounted for 24% of the total.
