Oxy pays 865 million for Plains E&P assets

Houston-US independent Plains Exploration & Production concluded a major asset divestiture program in dramatic fashion August 7, selling 12% of its daily production to US major Occidental Petroleum for 865 million. Shares of Plains jumped 4.8% after announcement of the sale to approach a new 52-week high.
