PowerSeraya seeks fuel oil as Orimulsion substitute

Singapore-Singapore utility PowerSeraya is expected to boost its fuel oil procurement in 2007 to make up for a lack of Orimulsion supplies from Venezuela, industry sources said November 15. PowerSeraya has invited several parties to negotiate the supply of between 100,000 mt and 600,000 mt of five grades of fuel oil during calendar 2007, sources said. The company has sought offers by the end of this week for 180 CST fuel oil with maximum 1% and 2% sulfur, and 380 CST fuel oil with maximum 1%, 2% and 3.5% sulfur for delivery into the Pulau Seraya power station at Jurong Island. PowerSeraya declined to comment.
