Another North Slope pipeline poses problem

New York-BP has run into more trouble up on the Slope.On August 11, in the midst of dealing with the partial closure of the 400,000 b/d Prudhoe Bay oil field due to severe pipeline corrosion, BP was ramping up production at another Alaska North Slope field, Port McIntyre, when a "pressure surge" caused a 200-foot section of the field's pipeline "to jump off its support mounts," according to BP spokesman Daren Beaudo.
