Seoul-Korea Gas Corporation has agreed to buy an additional 2.1 million mt/year of LNG from Qatar on a long-term basis, the South Korean Energy Ministry said November 16. Under the deal with Qatar's Rasgas, state-owned gas monopoly Kogas will be taking the extra volumes for 20 years starting in January 2007, according to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. The contract will be finalized November 21, when Qatar's energy minister visits Seoul, a ministry official said.
