Max starts up second Kazakh production well

London-UK-based explorer Max Petroleum said October 2 a second well at its Zhana Makat A field in western Kazakhstan had begun production over the weekend.The ZMA-2X well is the second of five wells Max plans to drill on the Zhana Makat A structure in its E block and was drilled down-dip from the ZMA-1X discovery well in order to further delineate the field. "It has encountered 18 meters of oil column, exceeding [our] initial expectations for the well," Max said.
