KNOC to start commercial production in Kazakh field

Seoul-South Korean state-run oil company Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) has completed construction of crude oil production facilities at the Ada block in Kazakhstan and will start commercial output next month, the company said May 28. KNOC and South Korean partner LG International began exploration at the onshore field in late 2005 and have found 35.7 million barrels of crude. The field, west of Astana, has been pumping 2,000 b/d in test production since July last year.
