US wins conviction in Iraq oil-for-food probe

New York-The US Department of Justice claimed the first of what could be a series of criminal convictions in the UN Iraq oil-for-food scandal Jan 18 as Iraqi-born crude trader Samir Vincent pleaded guilty to acting as an unregistered agent for the government of Saddam Hussein,conspiracy,tax evasion and violating US Iraq sanctions.
