Washington-The entire membership of the Senate Energy Committee has asked the US Federal Trade Commission to investigate possible gasoline price gouging following Hurricane Katrina and report to Congress by Nov 6.A Sep 12 letter to FTC chairwoman Deborah Platt signed by the 21 members of the committee and released Sep 13 said the "recent trend of rising gasoline prices and their immediate increases in the wake of Hurricane Katrina have elevated concerns about price fairness."
