US base oil postings fall on competition from Europe

New York—Refiners' base oil postings dropped dramatically in March, up to 85 cents/gal, apparently to keep the US in competition with European market rivals. As usual, ExxonMobil led in announcing the price moves that were followed by Chevron and then Motiva and Valero.
