Dubai—US President George W. Bush said May 17 that a 300,000 b/d oil production increase by OPEC giant Saudi Arabia was not enough to resolve the US' energy problems. "It's not enough. It's something, but it doesn't solve our problem," Bush told reporters in Egypt's Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, French news agency AFP reported. Bush said he was "pleased" with a Saudi decision to increase oil production in response to customer requests, but he used the opportunity to press his own domestic energy policy saying the US also needed to do more to develop its own energy resources and diversify its energy sources.
