Turcas,Socar plan new Turkish refinery

Istanbul-Turkish oil distributor Turcas and Azeri state oil company Socar plan to construct a 10 million mt/year refinery on land belonging to the Petkim petrochemical company,which the two companies took control of earlier this year,a Turcas official said November 11.Turcas board member Batu Aksoy told Platts that Turcas and Socar last week applied to Turkey's energy market regulator,the EPDK,for a license to construct the refinery at Petkim's Aliaga site.
