Sunoco cuts capex,may halt Tulsa refinery

Philadelphia-US refiner Sunoco is slashing its spending and will turn its 85,000 b/d refinery in Tulsa,Oklahoma,into a terminal by the end of next year if it fails to sell it or find another alternative,CEO Lynn Elsenhans told an analyst meeting December 15.The company also is talking to potential Canadian oil sands partners for its 170,000 b/d Toledo,Ohio,refinery and hopes to find a partner to pay for upgrades at its Northeast plants,said Elsenhans.
