The spread between US Gulf Coast 1% sulfur fuel oil and 3% sulfur fuel oil widened by 1.05/bar-rel to 5.55/b Friday,the widest levels seen in eight months,according to Platts data.On August 17,2007,spot USGC 1%S prices were assessed by Platts at a 6/barrel to the 3%S market - the regional resid benchmark.This spread widened out Friday due to the emergence of incremental demand for utility-grade low sulfur fuel oil on the Mississippi River,with 1%S assessed by Platts Friday at 77.50/b,up 2.60/b from the previous day.
