New York-US natural gas storage inventories inched closer to the 3 Tcf mark in the week ended August 24,when 43 Bcf was injected nationwide,the Energy Information Administration reported August 30.The build,which lifted stocks to 2.969 Tcf,fell solidly within consensus expectations of 40 to 45 Bcf and thus had little impact on the New York Mercantile Exchange October gas futures contract,which settled up 5.4 cents to 5.635/MMBtu.
