Unleaded gasoline futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange hit US2/gal for the first time since October 5 and subsequently settled 4.15 cents higher at US1.9957/gal with the run-up having been spurred by Wednesday's Energy Information Administration petroleum data.EIA reported a larger-than-expected 5.4 million barrel draw in US gasoline inventories.
