Moscow-Iraqi oil minister Hussein al-Shahris-tani said in Moscow August 9 he expected the country's long-awaited oil and gas law to be passed in September and the first upstream development tenders in the country to be held shortly afterward.However,Shahristani reiterated to his Russian audience that all previous oil field development contracts would be shelved,including Lukoil's Saddam Hussein-era agreement to develop the giant West Qurna field,and reopened to international competition.
