Prompt price levels for N-grade 87 octane gasoline on the Group 3 market surged Monday to a high of 13.65 cents/gal over NYMEX December RBOB,up 5 cents/gal from Friday,with any-November barrels being offered in the afternoon at plus 5.50 and plus 6 cents/gal.The wide backwardaton was said to be the result of aggressive buying by at least one trader needing to cover dates through midweek,combined with what's said to be tight supply throughout Magellan's pipeline system.
