New York-Participants in the resid market have reported higher-than-average fuel oil utilization by power plants on the US Atlantic Coast this week,as high temperatures prevail,boosting power demand.Dynegy's 1,200-MW Roseton power plant in IMewburgh,New York,was burning 30,000 b/d of 1% low-sulfur residual fuel oil Thursday,fully optimizing oil-burning capacity at the plant and reflecting heavy power demand due to an ongoing heat wave,according to resid market sources.The Roseton plant can use either natural gas or LSFO for generation.
