The Rotterdam duty-paid ingot premium continues to set record highs as tightness in the primary physical market intensifies. As a result, the profitability of conversion margins has been hit. In response to this, some of the larger European producers are trying to push through increases in 1050 sheet conversion margins. Yet, this is not universal and mills in Eastern and Southern Europe have yet to follow suit.
