Short-covering drives recent price rally

After remaining in the doldrums since March, the LME aluminium 3-Months price saw a sharp rally towards the end of May, where it rose from $1,834/t to $1, 968/t over the course of two weeks, reaching its 100 days moving average. The $134/t rise over such a short period, however, was not triggered by key fundamental drivers governing the aluminium market.
