Pressure on LME to increase transparency intensifies

The market still awaits the LME's final decision over warehousing rules and a decision is expected to take place at the end of this month. Over the last few weeks, a number of producers have attacked the LME's warehouse proposals for creating further distortions to the market. Meanwhile, the Aluminum User Group (AUG) has welcomed the proposal, but say that the measures do not go far enough. Certainly, mixed reactions are adding uncertainty as to how hard-hitting the rules will be.
