Sohar— Oman's Sohar Port and Freezone is beginning the process of implementing its Majees Reclamation Project to establish land for construction of a multi-billion dollar petrochemical complex proposed by an unidentified investor from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), according to local reports. Port authorities, citing non-disclosure clauses in preliminary agreements, have declined to identify the investor or any details about the petrochemical project. They noted, however, that talks have progressed to a stage that gives confidence to proceeding with the land reclamation.
