Vietnam Prioritizes Refinery, PC Project To Be Built by PTT and Saudi Aramco

Hanoi—Viet-namese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has included the $22-billion refinery and petrochemical complex planned by Thailand's PTT and Saudi Aramco in the list of projects that will receive priority treatment from the government, according to local media reports. The project, to be built in Binh Dinh province, includes a 400,000-b/d refinery and the production of about 5-million t/y of olefins and aromatics (PCN, 6 Oct 2014, p 3). The provincial government recently approved the project's feasibility study.
