Bangladesh Enters Trial Urea Production At Shahialal Fertilizer Factory in Sylhet

Dhaka-Bangladesh has begun the trial production of urea at its Shahjalal Fertilizer Factory at Fenchuganj in Sylhet, according to local media reports. The $580-million urea plant is intended to reduce the country's urea imports by approximately 600,000 t/y (PCN, 19 Jan 2015, p 2). The plant will also allow for the production of 330,000 t/y of ammonia.
