Invista Signs Land Reservation Deal For Nylon 6,6 Project in Shanghai

Shanghai-Invista has signed a land reservation agreement with the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Development Co. for a site on which it plans to build a nylon 6,6 polymer production facility (PCN, 14 Jan 2013, p 2). The land is adjacent to Invista's recently announced 215,000-t/y hexamethylene diamine (HMD) plant and adi-ponitrile unit in Shanghai, scheduled to come on stream by mid-2015. This agreement marks Invista's next step as it continues to make progress on plans for an integrated nylon 6,6 facility in China.
