Braskem Expanding Renewable Offerings With Plans for Green LDPE Production

Sao Paulo- Braskem, which has been producing high- and Hnear low-density polyethylene from renewable feedstocks on a commercial basis since 2010, is expanding its renewable products portfolio with a new line of green low-density polyethylene (LDPE) based on sugarcane ethanol. Production of the new resin will total approximately 30,000 t/y, with initial LDPE output to be available in the market in January 2014.
