Mitsui, Partners Forming JV Company To Manufacture 'Bio-Polyol' in India

Gujarat—Mitsui Chemicals and Japanese castor oil producer Itoh Oil Chemical Co. have signed a joint venture agreement with India's Jayant Agro-Organics Ltd., to establish a joint venture company to produce bio-polyol in Gujarat, India. The new company, Vithal Castor Polyols Pvt. Ltd., will produce 8,000 t/y of bio-polyol using non-edible plant derived fatty acid. Commercial operations are expected to begin in January 2015.
