CSP: Continuous slab caster goes on stream

A two-strand continuous slab caster has gone on stream at Companhia Sidenirgica do Pecem (CSP). The steel plant has a capacity of 3 million t/a of slabs. The continuous slab caster, delivered by Primetals Technologies, is part of a new steel works in the Pecem Industrial and Port Complex in Sao Goncalo do Amarante in the state of Ceara. Primetals Technologies received the order in 2012 from Posco E&C, a company based in South Korea.
