When creating a drawing, many designers first turn to Adobe Illustrator. Illustrator is a fine program to work with, especially if your drawing is to be mainly vector-based. But Photoshop is also a great program to use for creating drawings. Although the paths you use in Photoshop work somewhat differently than in Illustrator, they can be just as effective for producing a drawing, as shown in FIGURE A, especially when coupled with the many filter effects now available. If you've never considered using Photoshop for your drawing needs, you should think again because you may be missing out on some remarkable results.
