Stockyard Deal--Sandvik awarded R120m stacker, reclaimer contracts at Khumani

Hard on the heels of commissioning and handing over the stockyard comprising five stackers, four bucket wheel reclaimers and the stockyard conveyors worth over R300-million to Assmang's green field Khumani iron-ore mine, in the Northern Cape, Sandvik Materials Handling (SMH) has landed a further recession-breaking order worth R120-million as part of the mine's expansion project. Assmang is a jointly owned and managed by Assore and African Rainbow Minerals (Arm).
