Diversified power management company Eaton unveiled a range of electric and hydraulic technologies at its mining technology day in Midrand, Gauteng, last month. The electric technologies are suitable for any mining application in Africa and include the Power Xpert UX medium-voltage switchgear assembly, of which Eaton's new Wadeville facility, in Gauteng, will soon become the main assembler. The Power Xpert UX medium-voltage switchgear assembly is a standard design that is available worldwide and manufactured in Eaton's assembly plants worldwide. The product was first introduced onto the market in 2010.
