Haynesville Gas Asset Sale Advances Encana Makeover

Encana has agreed to sell all of its natural gas assets in Louisiana's Haynesville Shale for $850 million -- furthering its plans to beef up its output of oil and NGLs and reduce its dependence on gas. The deal is one of the biggest sales of upstream assets in the US so far this year, with overall mergers and acquisitions activity still dampened by the slump in oil prices.
