Pioneer Natural Resources reported strong production growth in the first quarter of 2014, rebounding from a fourth quarter in which volumes were dampened by severe winter weather in the company's core Permian Basin operations. The Dallas - based independent reported first - quarter production of 172,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (46% oil, 21% natural gas liquids, 33% natural gas) from continuing operations, which excludes output from its Alaska ( OD Oct.28'13 ) and Barnett Shale assets.
